This article provides an overview of each module on the dashboard.

System Information

This module provides immediate visibility into the plugin’s operational status and support resources.

• Version: Displays the currently installed version of the WPvivid Pro.

• Local Time: Shows the server’s local time.

• Support Center: Provides direct links to submit a ticket, view logs, and access the documentation.

• License & Account: Confirms the activation status and includes a link to manage license.

Site Size Overview

The Site Size Overview module displays the total size of the website along with a breakdown of key components, including the database, WordPress core, uploads, plugins, themes, and the wp-content directory.

You can click on the Calculate Now button to refresh the size data before generating new backups.

Quick Actions

The Quick Actions module provides a set of convenient shortcuts designed to streamline your workflow by offering immediate access to frequently used tasks. It includes:

• Manual Backup: Allows you to instantly initiate a manual backup of your website.

• Export Site: Provides a direct link to start exporting your site content and database.

• Import Site: Navigates directly to the import interface for restoring or migrating site data.

General Schedule

The General Schedule module displays the status and configuration of your general backup schedules. It provides key details including:

• Status: Indicates whether the schedule is currently enabled or disabled.

• Last Run: Shows the timestamp and result of the last schedule backup.

• Next Run: Displays the exact time planned for the next scheduled backup.

• Configuration Details: Lists the backup type (full backup), frequency (daily), and the backup destination (localhost or remote).

• Management: Includes a View Details link to modify settings or view logs.

Incremental Schedule

The Incremental Schedule module manages and monitors your incremental backup routines including:

• Status: Indicates whether the incremental schedule is currently enabled or disabled.

• Full Backup Cycle: Displays full backup cycle associated with this incremental schedule.

• Last Run: Shows the status of the most recent incremental backup run for both the database and files.

• Next Run: Lists the next scheduled run times and frequencies for database and files.

• Logs: Provides a View Logs link for detailed execution history.

Backup Disk Usage

The Backup Disk Usage module presents the total amount of disk space consumed by backup-related files stored on the server. This includes:

• Backup files

• Log files

• Backup cache

• Junk files

You can initiate a size calculation and access space management settings directly from this module.

Last Manual Backup

The Last Manual Backup module provides an immediate summary of the most recently created manual backup archive. This allows for quick verification and access to the file.

• Timestamp: Displays the exact date and time the backup was created.

• Size: Shows the total size of the backup file

• Content: Specifies the backup content (e.g., File + Database)

• Destination: Indicates the location (local or cloud storage) where the file is stored

• Backup ID: Lists the specific backup ID for tracking

• Actions: Provides direct links to View Log and Download the backup file

Backup Retention

The Backup Retention module shows your current backup retention settings and provide a quick link for you to edit the retention settings.

Recent Backups

The Recent Backups module provides a list of the most recently completed backup tasks. It offers immediate actions for downloading and restoring from these files.

Cloud Storage

The Cloud Storage module allows users to quickly connect to cloud storage accounts, and provides an overview of all currently connected remote storage accounts:

• Manage Storage: Provides a link to the cloud storage settings where users can add, modify, or remove remote storage accounts.

• Connected Accounts: Lists each configured storage service (e.g., Google Drive, Dropbox).

• Status/Designation: Indicates the role of the connected account (e.g., Default).

• Usage: Displays the storage space currently consumed by WPvivid backups on that remote location (e.g., Used: 0.00 B).

Staging

The Staging module provides a quick link to the staging creation page and provides an overview of your current staging environments:

• Staging Sites: Displays the URL of the active staging site and its creation date.

• Actions: Includes a View All link to the staging site list and a Details link for managing the specific environment.

Documentation

The Documentation module serves as a navigational hub, providing quick links to key features, detailed guides, and overviews within the plugin’s knowledge base.

Addons & Tools

The Addons & Tools module lists all premium addons and tools included with your WPvivid Backup Pro license. You have the options to install or update addon/tools.

What Is ‘Auto Backup before Update’?

The ‘Auto Backup before Update’ feature allows you to create a backup of WordPress core files, themes, and plugins before you perform an update to them.

With these versioning backups, you will be able to quickly roll back a plugin, theme or WordPress to a specific previous version if the update goes wrong.

How to Enable/Disable Auto Backup before Update?

To enable ‘Auto Backup before Update’ option, go to WPvivid Plugin > Rollback > Enable/disable ‘Auto Backup before Update’ for a specific plugin, theme, WordPress, or all.

Then when you update a plugin/theme/WordPress, WPvivid Backup Pro will automatically back up the current version of the plugin/theme/WordPress before the update is performed.

So all you need to do is to click ‘Update Now’ button on the Plugins or Themes page.

Note:

The backup will be taken in the background, so you won’t see a backup progress on UI.

You can find and manage these backups from WPvivid Plugin > Rollback > View versioning backups.

How to Roll back A Plugin/Theme/WordPress?

To roll back a plugin/theme/WordPress, go to WPvivid Plugin > Rollback, choose a version that you want to rollback to > Click Rollback.

Once done, you will see a message of ‘Rolling back the plugin completed successfully.’

Note:

Do not close/refresh the page until the rollback process is complete.

In the case where your storage provider only supports path-style, you will get an error of ‘Could not resolve host’, then you can enable the path-style option on the WPivivd S3-Compatible Storage adding page to solve it.

Option 1: Import the Source Site from Localhost(Web Server)

With this option, you can upload and import the source site that was exported to localhost(web server) to the target site to restore.

Option 2: Import the Source Site from Remote Storage

If you have exported the source site to remote storage, then you can import and restore it to the destination site from the same remote storage with this option.

Before importing it, you need to connect to the same remote storage on the destination site.

Option 3: Import from the Source Site(Auto Migration)

This option allows you to import and restore the source site that you exported via the auto migration option to the destination site.

Way 1. Export to Localhost(web server)

With this way, you can export your website to localhost in zip(s). Then you can download it to your computer and import it to a different site. It is the stablest way to migrate a website.

Before exporting, you have the options to choose what content to export:

• WordPress Files + Databases
• Database only
• WordPress Files only
• Custom Content

And add a comment to the exported zip(s) for better identification(optional).

Way 2. Export to Remote Storage

Export your website to remote storage. Once exported, you can go to the destination site of the migration, connect to the same remote storage and import the site. It is a premium feature for pro users only.

Before exporting, you have the options to choose what content to export:

• WordPress Files + Databases
• Database only
• WordPress Files only
• Custom Content

And add a comment to the exported zip(s) for better identification.

Way 3. Export to Target site(Auto Migration)

Export your website to the destination site directly. It is the fastest way to migrate a website.

You will need to generate a key on the destination site first, then paste and save it on the source site.

Before exporting, you have the options to choose what content to export:

• WordPress Files + Databases
• Database only
• WordPress Files only
• Custom Content

And add a comment to the exported zip(s) for better identification.

Once the site is exported on the Export Site page, you can go to the Import Site page on the destination site to import the site.

Step 1. Export the Source Site to Localhost (Web Server)

First, go to the source site(where you want to migrate from) > WPvivid Backup Pro > Export Site > Export to Localhost(Web Server).

On the page, choose what content you want to export:

• WordPress Files + Databases(the entire website)
• Database only
• WordPress Files only
• Custom Content

And then you can add a comment to the exported zip(s) for better identification.

Once done, click on Export Now.

After the exporting is done, you will see an export succeeded message, then you can click on the Download All Parts to download the site to your computer.

Once downloaded, you are all set to import the source site to the target site.

Step 2. Import the Source Site to the Target Site

Go to the target site(where you want to migrate to), go to WPvivid Backup Pro > Import Site > Import from Localhost(Web Server). Click Select Files to select the exported zip(s) or just drag and drop the zip(s) to the field.

Note: Please make sure to upload all the parts(zips)(if any) of the backup at a time.

Once done, click Upload button.

After the uploading succeeds, you will see a message of ‘Importing Succeeded’, now you can click on the Restore Now button to restore the site.

The migration can be done in two simple steps:

Step 1. Export the Source Site to Target site(Auto Migration)

Go to the target site(where you want to migrate to), go to WPvivid Backup Pro > Import Site > Generate A Key, click Generate to generate a key, then copy the key.

Next, go to the source site(where you want to migrate from) > WPvivid Backup Pro > Export Site > Export to Target Site(Auto Migration). Paste the key to the field and click Save.

Once done, you can choose what content to export:

• WordPress Files + Databases
• Database only
• WordPress Files only
• Custom Content

And add a comment to the exported zip(s) for better identification(optional).

After that, click on Export Now. You will an success message once the process is done. Then you can go to the destination site to import the site.

Step 2. Import the Source Site to the Target Site

Once exporting the source site is done, go to the target site > WPvivid Backup Pro > Import Site > Import from Source Site(Auto Migration), click the ‘refresh‘ icon to retrieve the received site to the list. Then click Restore button to restore the site.

How to Search and Replace Urls?

First, install WPvivid Backup Pro and activate your WPvivid license on the site.

Next, go to the WPvivid Plugin > Dashboard > Click Url Replacing.

Then on the page that opens,

1. Enter the url you want to replace, for example, http://test1.com/wordpress/
2. Enter url you want to replace with, for example, http://test2.com/wordpress/, make sure the format of the url to be exactly consistent with the one you want to replace.
3. Select the table you want to search.
4. Click Search & Replace Now to start the process.

To do that, go to WPvivid Plugin > Manual Backup > Step 2: Choose what to back up > Expand ‘Files & Folders Will Be Backed Up’ > Expand ‘Additional Files/Folders’ > Select the files or folders to include in the backup. Then click Include folders/files.

One can increase the backup/migration/restoration success rate by adjusting these advanced settings.

1. Enable eco mode for shared hosting

The eco mode provides many optimizing algorithms for running a backup/migration task within a web hosting/ shared hosting environment, which will drastically increase the backup/migration success rate.

The option will take effect automatically, all you need to do is to check the option.

2. Compress and archive

Choose if you want the plugin to compress files when creating a backup:

Only archive without compressing – recommended on shared hosting accounts because of the lower CPU usage.

Compress and archive – uses more CPU resources and is therefore only recommended on a VPS or dedicated hosting environment.

3. Database access method

Choose the method to access your database: WPDB or PDO.

WPDB: It has a better compatibility, but the speed of backup and restore is slower.

PDO: It is recommended to choose PDO option if pdo_mysql extension is installed on your server, which lets you backup and restore your site faster.

4. Split a backup every xxx MB

This option will split a backup task into many parts, therefore, is an ideal way to avoid hitting this limitation if you are running a big website.

5. Exclude files larger than xxx MB

Use the option to exclude those relatively unnecessary large files from the backup, for example, videos and media files.

6. PHP script execution timeout for backup

The maximum PHP script execution time for WPvivid backup plugin to run a backup.

The default value is 900s, which is sufficient for a shared hosting account.

If you encounter a backup or migration failure caused by an exceeding the maximum PHP script execution time yet you are on a VPS or dedicated server, then try to set a larger value, but keep it under 3600s.

7. PHP script execution timeout for restore

This is the maximum PHP script execution time for WPvivid backup plugin to run a restore.

The default value is 1800s, which is sufficient for a shared hosting account.

If you encounter a restore timeout failure, then try to set a larger value, for example 3600s.

7. PHP memory limit for backup

A temporary PHP memory for the plugin to run a backup/migration task. The value will be released after the task is complete.

Note: The option will not work if the value you enter is not adequate for running of a task, then you’ll still get errors like: [error]type: 1, Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 20480 bytes) file:/home/subhwynw/public_html/wp-admin/includes/class-pclzip.php line:5492. In that case, please try to increase the value and try again.

8. PHP memory limit for restore

A temporary PHP memory for the plugin to run a restoration task. The value will be released after the task is complete.

When you encounter a restoration failure, try to double this value(256MB by default, recommended by official WordPress). Then the plugin will automatically apply a temporary PHP memory from your web server for running the restoration.

Note: The option will not work if the value you enter is not adequate for running of a task. In that case, please try to increase the value and try again.

9. Chunk size

The size of data package operated by the plugin when running a backup/migration/restoration task.

Don’t forget to click Save Changes button in the bottom to make all the changes take effect.
