A database snapshot is a quick copy of all tables of the current website in the database. As of version 2.2.9, WPvivid Pro comes with an addon of ‘Database Snapshots’.

WPvivid Database Snapshots allows you to quickly create snapshots of your WordPress database, and restore the database from a snapshot in 1-click.

Why Use A Database Snapshot?

A database snapshot can usually be created in seconds, which is much faster than creating a backup for the database. If you need a quicker rollback solution for safely testing WordPress database-related changes, use a snapshot.

Note: A snapshot contains database only. If you need to back up the full site or files, you can use our WPvivid Backup Plugin.

How to Create Database Snapshots with WPvivid Database Snapshots

1. Install WPvivid Database Snapshots

Go to your WordPress admin dashboard > WPvivid Plugin > Dashboard > On the Addons/Tools section, click Install button of the Database Snapshots.

Note: If you don’t see the Install button, make sure you are using the latest version of WPvivid Pro, also, verify your WPvivid pro license on the Addons/Tools section again.

2. Create A Snapshot

Once installed, you can find WPvivid Snapshots from the left admin menu of your WordPress dashboard. Click on ‘WPvivid Snapshots‘ menu.

On Snapshots tab, click Create Now button. Before doing that, you can enter a comment for the snapshot for easier identification.

Once created, you’ll see a ‘creation successful message’ in a popup. And you’ll see the snapshots appearing in the snapshots list, where you can view and manage all snapshots.

You can also set up a retention policy for the snapshots from the Settings tab.

That’s it. Now a snapshot of your database is in place, you can restore the database from it whenever needed.

You have two options to serve your WebP images:

1. Use picture tag

The picture tag option works by replacing the <img> tags with <picture> tags, so that the browser will automatically choose the appropriate file format to display.

But it does not convert images that are set in (inline) CSS. You can switch to the rewrite rule option if images do not correctly display.

2. Use rewrite rule

With the rewrite rule option checked, our plugin will display your WebP images by automatically adding rewrite rules to your .htaccess file. Currently it supports Apache servers only.

A CDN or Content Delivery Network is a technology of serving your website content from several locations to speed up your page load time, hence improving user experience and your PageSpeed Insights score.

As version of 2.0.13 Beta, WPvivid Image Optimization Pro plugin provides the ability to integrate a CDN service to your website with just one click.

Note: WPvivid Image Optimization Pro does not offer CDN service itself, so you should have a valid CDN service to move forward.

In this guide, we’ll see how to integrate a CDN service to your website with WPvivid Image Optimization Pro.

How to Integrate CDN in WordPress?

1. Install WPvivid Image Optimization Pro

Please follow this step-by-step guide to install WPvivid Image Optimization Pro on your WordPress website.

2. Enable CDN

Once installed, go to your WordPress admin dashboard > in the left admin menu, click WPvivid Plugins > click CDN Integration > Enable CDN to deliver your content.

3. Configure CDN Settings

Next, you will need to configure CDN settings:

Enter your CDN Url(without trailing ‘/’): e.g. http://examplecdn.com

Choose to enable CDN for relative path or/and https connections

Included Directories: Input directories so that assets under it will be pointed to your CDN url: e.g., wp-content, wp-includes(separate directories by comma).

Exclude Extensions/Directories: Input file extensions and directories so the files/directories will be excluded from CDN rewriting: e.g., .php,.js, .css.

4. Save Changes

Once you are done with all settings, click Save Changes button to make the CDN integration take effect.

How to Verify If CDN Integration Has Been Effected?

As of version 1.9.21, WPvivid Backup Pro adds the ability to find and clean unused images in your WordPress media library.

With the unused images cleaner, you can launch a scan to your media folder(uploads) to look for images that are not used anywhere on your website, then isolate the unused(or orphan) images to delete or restore them.

If you are running a WordPress website handling a large number of images, you can benefit greatly from this feature. It helps free up your disk space hence optimize your website performance. Also, cleaning unused(or orphan) images before performing a backup or migration can effectively increase the process success rate.

How to Clean Unused Images in WordPress Media Library?

1. Scan Your Media Folder

First, install WPvivid Backup Pro on your website.

On your left admin menu, click WPvivid Plugin > Image Cleaner.

On the Scan Media tab that opens, click Scan button to run a scan to your media folder, which is …/wp-content/uploads.

Then the plugin will start analysing the folder and find unused images in it. It offers a progress bar where you can monitor the live progress of the scan.

Note:

1. Currently it only scans JPG and PNG images.

2. Please do not refresh the page while running a scan.

2. Isolate Unused Images

Once the scan is done, all the unused images in your media folder will be listed.

Now you have options to select specific or all images from the list and isolate them to a folder created by WPvivid Backup Pro, which is …/wp-content/WPvivid_Uploads/Isolate. You can choose to delete or restore the isolated images later.

It offers a search box where you enter an image path e.g. 2021/01/wpvivid-backup-plugin-restore.png or 2021/01/ to search specific images if you have many.

Choose an isolate method from the drop-down menu, click Apply to start isolating images.

3. Delete or Restore Unused Images

All the images you isolated is displayed on the Isolated Media tab, from there you can choose to delete or restore specific or all images.

Note: Once deleted, images will be lost permanently. The action cannot be undone, unless you have a backup in place.

You can also search specific images by entering an image path in the search box if you have many.

If you also want to delete corresponding image urls (that are not used anywhere on your website) from your database, before delete an image, go to WPvivid Settings > Media Cleaner Settings > Check the option ‘Delete Image URL‘ > Save Changes.
